About ACA

Exciting changes have taken place within Canada’s competition climbing community, with most Provinces having modified their internal structure to fit within the Sport Canada model, allowing for future funding opportunities while also aligning with the model preferred by the International Federation of Sport Climbing.

Under the Sport Canada model, each Province manages its own affairs through its own Provincial Sport Organization (PSO), which reports to the National Sport Organization (NSO).

We are pleased to announce that the Alberta Climbing Association (ACA) has now been incorporated as Alberta’s climbing PSO. One of the primary tasks of the ACA will be to run its own competition circuit for both Youth and Open athletes. Awards will be presented again this season based on competition results and the ACA will rank its members to determine which athletes qualify for the Western Canadian Regional Championships.

We have attached the 2013-14 Alberta Series Rules for both Youth and Open, which outline how the Series will work for the upcoming season.
