Transition to new ACA member registration system
Alberta Climbing Association Membership,
We're beginning to roll out our new membership registration system with Interpodia's 2mev.com platform early next week. Here are some important notes about the transition to the new system:
If you have already purchased a 2024/2025 youth season membership from the old system, member.albertaclimbing.org, we will be migrating that paid membership to the new 2mev system.
Expect a confirmation email by Wednesday October 30th, notifying you that a user account and membership have been added to the system.
You will need to activate your 2mev.com account based on the instructions from this email.
After your account is activated, you will be able to login to your account at 2mev.com and view your 2024/2025 youth season membership.
If you haven't purchased a 2024/2025 youth season membership, we will be sending details later next week to create an account and register for the seasonal membership, events, etc.
We have disabled purchase of the season membership on our member.albertaclimbing.org system.
If you require a 2024/2025 youth season membership to register for the ACA speed local on November 2nd, contact communications@albertaclimbing.org
The 2mev.com platform will be used for the event registration for the 2024-DEC-09 Red Deer comp to start with, plus all youth events afterwards. We hope to open registration for this competition late next week.
Interpodia's 2mev.com system is much more robust, and has some notable changes from our old system, including:
Parents, Guardians can manage multiple youth athletes from one account
You can register and pay for multiple athletes and multiple events / memberships in one transaction
Processing fees & Gst are now itemized and included on the shopping cart
Processing fees are now paid by the user; previously paid by the ACA. Processing fees include credit card fees, and Interpodia variable fees
Refunds are not user initiated in the system anymore. Refunds can be requested by emailing communications@albertaclimbing.org, and will be processed in line with the Alberta Climbing Association refund policy.
Coach memberships will transition to the new 2mev.com system later. Use the old member.albertaclimbing.org system for coach memberships.
Please be patient as we migrate to the new system. We will ensure that every member has their current paid membership ported and has the ability to register for upcoming events. It's a big change, and requires a lot of work from unpaid volunteers. We're hosting the ACA Open Provincials all weekend, so responses may be limited.
For questions or comments about the membership migration and launch with Interpodia, email communications@albertaclimbng.org and cc info@2mev.com.
Regards,
Jeremy Fidelack - Communications Manager
2024-2025 Youth Season Updates
Dear Athletes, Parents, and Coaches,
We are gearing up and getting excited for the 2024-2025 Youth Season! Last season we developed a Competition Committee which was responsible for creating the schedules for the new seasons and also reviewing practices and policies of how we run our Competition series in Alberta. The Competition Committee put forward several suggestions on how we can change our policies to encourage further development of Alberta athletes to prepare them for the National and International stages. At our most recent Board meeting, which was October 20, 2024, the members of the Board voted on and passed the proposed changes. This email is meant to update our membership to help you properly prepare for the upcoming season.
Tier 1 and Tier 2 Competitions
All athletes can choose to compete in Tier 1 Competitions. Tier 1 competitions are meant to challenge our top ranked athletes.
Tier 2 competitions are for Youth B/A/Junior athletes, who would like to gain more competition experience and are looking for further development on boulders and routes that have a more attainable difficulty level.
Athletes ranked in the top 30% of their category at the end of Alberta's 2023-2024 competition season in Youth events ARE NOT ELIGIBLE to compete in Tier 2 competitions.
You can review your rankings from last season using this link.
If you are a new athlete to Alberta and do not have a rank from our Province, you can compete in Tier 2 Competitions.
Points
Tier 2 competitions DO NOT provide points.
We have two locals per discipline per Tier this season.
Your ranking for the season will be based on BOTH Tier 1 locals and Provincials.
Provincials will be worth double the points from Locals.
Qualifying for Provincials
Our sport has been growing over the last few years, we are seeing many more athletes joining competitions, which has been incredibly exciting. This growth has also made us rethink how we can change our policies to run Provincial Competitions with more efficiency and provide the appropriate challenge required to determine which athletes are ready for Nationals. Therefore, we are implementing a policy where you must qualify to compete at Provincials.
The top 75% of a category will be invited to Provincials with a maximum of 30 and a minimum of 20.
We realize there are fairly significant changes and updates to the way our season will run this year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us communications@albertaclimbing.org
Sincerely,
Jacquelyn Mitchell
ACA Team Manager

Discounted Youth Membership: Purchase by 2024-SEP-30
The ACA board is excited to be partnering with Climbing Escalade Canada and Interpodia to roll out a new membership registration system for the upcoming 2024-2025 season. The new system is being built and tested over the summer, and will be ready for the start of the youth season. The new system from Interpodia will offer much needed improvements for athletes, parents, and event organizers, and we can’t wait to share the details with everyone. The new Interpodia system will have a new fee structure for membership and event purchases, which will be included as transaction fees at the time of registration. The ACA Senior athlete season (open competitions) have been scheduled to begin before the new Interpodia system is ready.
The ACA board has decided to offer 2024-2025 youth season memberships for purchase through the legacy system for $90 (including GST) until September 30th 2024. After September 30th, memberships will only be available for purchase through Interpodia, and will include additional transaction fees (which have not yet been determined). Memberships purchased through the legacy system will be migrated to the new Interpodia system at launch. ACA season memberships are non-refundable.
Please contact communications@albertaclimbing.org if you have questions or comments.
