New results service for ACA competitions - Vertical Life

We’re excited to announce that the Alberta Climbing Association will be using the Vertical Life Results Service in partnership with Climbing Escalade Canada. We’ll begin by posting the results for the upcoming 2023 Senior Bouldering Provincial competition at Bolder Elevated to the CEC Climbing Result Service.

The legacy system, CompSeason, has served the ACA well over the years. However, it is an aging platform with declining support.

For questions or comments, reach out to communications@albertaclimbing.org

Points & Ranking updates

Points system: all points are on the thousands system. Currently, the senior bouldering ranking is on the hundreds system and will be switched over to the same points that are used for other categories.

Points system for senior ranking this year: Bouldering ranking will be top local plus provincials. Lead ranking will be provincials only.

Points system for youth ranking: Both lead and bouldering will be the scores of one less than the number of locals plus provincials. For example, currently, there are 3 bouldering locals scheduled, so 2 will be used for ranking.
