Hey Climbers!
We are trying something new this year by introducing a hoodie design contest. The contest is open to anybody interested in submitting an entry, and the designs will be voted on by all of you, ACA climbers. We want to make sure that you are proud to represent your community when wearing an Alberta climbing hoodie, so what better way to do that than by letting the climbers choose? That being said, this contest needs all of you to participate in order to run properly, so if you are interested in designing or are just wanting to vote, we encourage you to stay tuned and get involved! If your design wins, it will not only be worn by many ACA climbers, but you will have the honour of being the first one to wear the hoodie, as you will be given a free one!
Designs can be submitted from October 5 until January 3, when all entries will be reviewed by the ACA Board. The voting period will take place for all climbers from January 10 to February 23. Votes will be tallied, and the winner will be announced at Boulder Provincials on March 15. After that, the hoodie will be available for purchase to all members of Team Alberta competing at Regionals and Nationals. The same design will then be used for the general Alberta Climbing hoodie the following season, ensuring that everyone has the chance to buy one.
There will be some guidelines to follow when creating your designs, so make sure to incorporate the following:
Must create two identical designs, one containing the words “Alberta Climbing 2026”, and the other containing “Alberta Climbing” as well as “Team 2026”
Must have appropriate content
Designs that have not been created with artificial intelligence will be given priority over those that have
It is not necessary to include the ACA logo in your design, as it will be displayed on the front of the hoodie with the winning design on the back
